Obituary

William “Willie” Mann III, 56, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Willie was born November 14, 1963 to William Henry Mann Jr., and Nancy Delene Thompson Mann and lived here all of his life. He was a 1981 graduate of Glennville High School and was an Eagle Scout and Troop Leader with the Boy Scouts of America Troop #929. Willie was a Desert Storm Veteran serving in the Georgia Army National Guard for 15 years and worked at MATES on Ft. Stewart. He was an EMT and Paramedic for 36 years with Tattnall County and numerous surrounding counties. He was a retired firefighter with the Glennville Volunteer Fire Department after 25 years of service and was serving as Tattnall County Deputy Coroner for the last 22 years. Willie was a faithful member of Connection Point Church in Reidsville where he served as CFO, board member, ministry leader and lay pastor. He had also obtained his local church ministers license and was eager to learn and share the word of God.  Willie was a dedicated and quiet public servant with a heart for helping others. He was a talented handyman and carpenter that loved woodworking. Willie enjoyed the outdoors, to fish, to hunt, to garden with his mom, to tinker on his tractor and to spend time at the pawn shop.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that loved to spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by, his father, William H. Mann, Jr.

                        Children, William Mann IV of Glennville, Georgia
                                        Brittney Powell of Douglas, Georgia
                                        Chelsey Powell of Reidsville, Georgia
                                        Brandon Powell of Statesboro, Georgia

                        Mother, Nancy Delene Mann of Glennville, Georgia

                        Sister, Michelle Mann Hullender (Rex) of Glennville, Georgia

                        Paternal Grandmother, Annie Walker Mann of Mullin, South Carolina

Several Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

A walk through visitation will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 11, 2020 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery with Military Honors.

Pallbearers: Jerry Bamberg, Peyton Kirby, Blake Quick, David Taylor, Jimmy Ford, Kenny Murphy

Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of Tattnall County EMS and members of the Tattnall and Glennville Volunteer Fire Departments.
