Melvin “PeeWee” Ray, 71, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born May 18, 1951 in Hazelhurst, Georgia to Henry and Katie Mae Walker Ray and lived in this area all of his life. Melvin was self employed in the trucking industry and was a subcontractor with McLendon Enterprises for many years. He loved to fish and watch westerns. Melvin was a generous, hardworking man that never met a stranger and would rather go without to give to others in need. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Joyce Ray ,brothers, Henry Ray, Jr., Frank Ray, Ricky Ray, Edgar Ray, Vurlie Ray, Glenn Ray and wife, Sherri Gupton Ray.

Children, Melvin Loren Ray (Maribel) of Hinesville, Georgia
Christina Beebe (David) of Spring Hill, Florida
Sheena Ray of Richmond Hill, Georgia
Scott Brandon Ray
Brothers, Billy Ray of Claxton, Georgia
Leslie Mizell of Pembroke, Georgia
Grandchildren, Brianna Nicole Screen, Brandon McKenzie Screen,
Daniel Ray Beebe, Levi Grant Beebe, Estevean Cruz Lotfi,
David Keam Sanchez, Jr., Diamond Lee Arroyo
Several other relatives also survive.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
